Semana Santa is Coming

Gathering at the beach
Our time here is coming to an end and so is the peaceful quiet beach on La Ropa.  The beach will be packed for the two weeks "Semana Santa" around Easter.  This picture is only a sample of what to expect. And then as if by magic, it will return to a long empty beach with few tourists.  Just the way we like it.

  1. Run! Run for your life! But don't run very far, just far enough to escape the noise of the crowds, and then be sure to return. I'm convinced that living a peaceful, meaningful life requires strategic timing -- where, when and how we reach our desired destination(s). Of course, not all crowds are evil, but all crowds are... well, crowded. Yesterday, a friend and I spent most of the day wandering the high plateau meadows of the Columbia River surrounded by tens of thousands of wildflowers. We only saw a handful of other people, and it was lovely. What draws me back to a place like this? I think it is the same reason you give in today's narrative: "...as if by magic, it will return to a long empty beach with few tourists. Just the way we like it."
