Comida

Jose Luis and Jorge
Today, I am having lunch with the guys on the beach.  Everyday they have food delivered and share a meal.  Karen is making "Gringa Tortas".  She went shopping for everything and will make up the Tortas for the afternoon meal.  Tortas are a sandwich made with a soft round bread roll.  You can put just about anything in a Torta made to your liking.  Today they get the Gringa version: jamón, queso, tocino, lechuga, chiles, tomates, rajas.

  1. You and Karen are functioning like American Ambassadors, creating well-being in relationships with the locals which they will remember for a long time. Generosity -- done the right way -- seems to be especially effective in creating good-will. This is a pattern we can follow anywhere, even here, in the USA, where there's affluence. The "elementary principles of the world" (ABCs of Life) encourage using others for our own advantage and/or cause, as if society cannot succeed unless we hustle our neighbor. Better to make a meal for our neighbor and then take time to listen to their story.
