For several years now, whenever I see a sunset photo, I think about the end of human history as we know it. It happens every time: "Someday the sun will set and not rise. It will be the final sunset." I imagine this has something to do with sunset signaling the end of the day, and then seeing the event as a kind of shadow of what's eventually coming. I find the whole business comforting for some strange reason. Life as we know it must end some day, and that's got to be a good thing: no more disease, no more pain or suffering, not more lies. I hope the end - whenever it comes - will be beautiful, just like your photo.
