A Taste of Mexico

Sometimes you capture the perfect photo that tells the perfect story.  It is often like artwork as you look for the right lighting, composition, colors and effects.

Mireya Overcast is a well known award winning Mexican artist who recently picked up a camera and started shooting.  I've collected several of her paintings and think that she also has a keen eye for photography.

What's interesting is that her husband Brian is the pro when it comes to photography.  Then again, it is much like artwork.

  1. I just purchased/studied The Great Courses series called Masters of Photography, co-taught by 12 of National Geographic's career photographers. Mireya's photo has several of the elements these men/women repeat over and over: tell a story, catch a non-repeatable moment, work the light. I think you're right, Mireya has an intuitive sense of what makes an interesting photo. This one is fun to look at, and says volumes about the culture and the role of women in that culture.
