| Full Moon and High Tides |
The last few days have brought very heavy surf and waves to Playa La Ropa. It has made swimming and water sports a bit more difficult. Huge waves seem to come in a series of 3 and then a brief window to either get into the water or exit. Karen is very careful and respects the power of the ocean after her experience two years ago.
You can never have too many breaking wave photos! I don't know why, but moving water (and sometimes water that is perfectly still) always perks me up. Even a photograph of a wave breaking makes me feel more alive and connected. I'll bet this is true in various degrees for many people, which probably explains why coastal resorts are located on beautiful beaches. Still... I must be more affected than most. You, too. This afternoon I'm working at Multnomah Falls, and though I've been there more times than I can remember, I'm still bringing my camera. The experience in watching the beautifully clear whitewater and swirling pools never grows dimmer. I've even noticed this with the creek in our back yard! The more time we spend enjoying it, the more we want to go back. No wonder God is sometimes likened to moving (living) water!
