Steps

La Ceiba Steps
Proverbs 14:15
The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.

Proverbs contains some of the greatest nuggets of advise and guidance known to man.  They were written to teach us wisdom and disciple so that we could live successful lives and avoid calamity; to receive guidance and to help us do what is "right and just and fair".

Like all good advise, to receive the benefits, we must listen and then actually take the steps to walk down wisdom's path.

  1. Love the photo! Unexpectedly simple, clean, making it easy to understand what you're saying. I experience truth this way, one step built next to, but adjacent to the one above it. It's like I get to see where the steps are leading, but only for a short distance. It's just like in your photo, where you are able to see about seven steps but not around the corner. Every step forward means seeing a little more, but not too much more. I think this process takes courage, because we don't really know what's around the corner or at the top of the stairs. So... obedience requires faith, which is measured one step at a time. I think each step requires a level of trust that brings its own challenge. "Will I take this step?" "Is this really Jesus?" "What will happen if I go that direction?" "I don't know what's around the corner?" I experience these things, as I'm sure others must, and sometimes it gets spooky! Ha! But, He is with us to the end, never leaving or forsaking, always guiding and building. This is the Good news, I think. Or, at least, an important part of it.
